Our client is a global market leader in professional foodservice equipment — a family-owned, financially very solid, and highly innovative company group headquartered in southern Germany, with over 2,500 employees and 40 sales and service subsidiaries worldwide. In Italy, the business is well-established, with strong potential for further growth: a team of 40 employees across two locations, covering sales, service, marketing and logistics. To lead the next chapter of this growth story, we are looking for an exceptional Managing Director (m/f/d) as part of a succession process.
As managing director, you will be a key representative and the driving force behind the Italian business. You will inspire and lead a team of 40 employees, providing technical solutions to key accounts, specialist dealers, and direct customers — supported by a broad, market-leading product portfolio. Your focus will be on deepening relationships with existing customers and capturing new market opportunities, while expanding the service offering and the product portfolio, including digital offerings. At the same time, you will continuously improve processes and operational efficiency, develop your team, and maintain the company’s profitability. You will report directly to the Head of the European Business Unit and be based at the company’s Italian subsidiary north of Milan.
You are a confident, hands-on sales leader with energy and entrepreneurial drive to take a successful business to the next level. You hold a solid academic background — ideally in Business Administration or Mechanical Engineering — and bring proven experience selling technically complex products with a strong service component in the Italian market, such as professional foodservice equipment, laboratory equipment, material handling / industrial trucks or professional tools. You balance strategic vision with operational execution, combined with a passion for people development and a drive for commercial success. The Italian market offers outstanding growth prospects — and this role offers the platform to make a real impact. Fluency in Italian and English is essential.
